Tuesday, November 16, 7:00pm – two-time Boynton Contest winner Luther Allen reads from his book of poetry, The View from Lummi Island, at Village Books, Bellingham. Details here.

Sunday, December 12, 4:00pm – celebrate community creativity as past contest winners share their winning poems at a free public reading at Village Books.

Saturday, January 29, 2011 – two poetry workshops: 10am-Noon, Jeremy Voigt teaches Poems from Poems – writing and revising your own work through close reading of Emily Dickinson; 1:00-3:00 pm, Nancy Canyon and Katie Humes team-lead Starting from Scratch: Everyday Objects / Everyday Names.

Saturday, February 26, 2011 – two poetry workshops: 10am-Noon, Lana Hechtman Ayers teaches The Persona Poem; 1:00-3:00pm, Rena Priest teaches The Ecstatic Poem.

Tuesday, March 22, 2011 is the date for our second annual Taste for Poetry fundraising dinner at Ciao Thyme. Last year’s event was delicious, fun and very successful, and we’re looking forward to a packed table this year, so mark your calendar and tell your friends!

It’s never too early to think about entering the contest again. We should have guidelines for the 2011 contest posted sometime in January and expect the submission deadline toward the end of March.
