The Raging Storm Inside

The wind is howling,
The trees are shaking,
The fear is setting inside me.

The thunder rumbles,
The lightning flashes,
The fright seeps into my adolescent mind

I feel the earth moving beneath me
I feel the house shaking furiously,
I know it is just another storm,
But is it really?
Is it all in my head?
Am I making it all up?
Then, comfort and serenity,
Under the covers.
