poetry horizons…

All Lit Up Poetry PrimerThough we call it National Poetry Month, it is in fact international: “the largest literary celebration in the world.” And what better place to begin viewing “the world” than right over the border in Canada?

The folks at All Lit Up, an online community bookstore that focuses on Canadian literature, have started a National Poetry Month blog series called A Poetry Primer. In each post, an established poet recommends the writing of a less-well-known poet. There are plenty of examples and links and it’s a great way to expand your poetic horizons and familiarize yourself with some north-of-the-border voices. See the growing list of posts on the All Lit Up blog page (on that page, scroll down and then click to read individual posts).
