The Deletionist

We’ve mentioned erasure poetry here on a number of occasions. If you are interested in the idea of reducing an existing text to a new poetic essence, you might find yourself blacking out or painting/inking over unwanted words, cutting the desired words from the text or otherwise making your choices. Any text is subject to erasure and also subject to principles of copyright and fair use.

To try your hand at online erasure, head to The Deletionist, drag the Deletionist icon onto your bookmark bar then head to a text-y web page and start “erasing.” Have fun!
