enter the Labyrinth…
November 6, 2015
Labyrinth, the annual publication of the Women’s Center at WWU, invites your creativity. Founded in 1976 as a journal dedicated to female issues and experiences, Labyrinth has greatly expanded to include voices of all marginalized identities (race, gender, ability, illness, sexuality and beyond). This year’s editor, Madeline Hovenga, says, “I am working on extending submissions into the Bellingham community to promote a wider scope of experiences.” This will be the journal’s 40th edition.
The issue’s theme is Uprooted: Understanding the Structure, Growth and Challenges of Marginalized Identities. Artists/writers can review the guidelines and submit up to three pieces through the Labyrinth submission portal. The deadline for submissions is Friday, December 11, 2015. Selections will be made mid-January and Labyrinth’s showcase will be on display at Western Washington University’s VU Gallery from April 25-May 13, 2016, with a closing reception on May 11.
