red and well read

Phonebox library, Staffordshire

On a number of occasions we’ve talked about the proliferation of Little Free Libraries. There may be one in your neighborhood, or even in front of your house! Apparently, the idea has gained traction in England, where there are more than 125 little libraries in re-purposed red phone boxes. There’s a Google map that shows the locations and the Lewisham Micro Library and Banbury Phone-box Library have their own Facebook pages.

Along the same lines, New York architect John H. Locke converted a phone booth to a mini library in 2011.

Fun.
