Dreams on Montlake - Logan Sitkin
2016 Merit Award
By Logan Sitkin (11th grade)

As the sun sets over the Washington sky.
And day turns to night.
Seattle’s crown jewel awakes
And turns the city alight.
There is nothing like a Saturday at Montlake,
Or so I’ve been told.
I have been going to Husky games
Since I was seven months old.
And since I was a boy
I have donned the purple and the gold.
Seventy Thousand show up to support
The purple clad Husky men.
Seventy thousand dreaming,
That Washington will win.
So as the sun sets over Montlake
And the Stadium fills with light.
In the sleepless city
Dreams come to life.

. . . . .
