There are changes in the works at Bellingham Review. Editor-in-Chief since 2016, Susanne Paola Antonetta (above) has announced in a Letter from the Editor that Issue 84 will be her final issue in that role.

Stepping up to take the reins of editorship will be poet Jane Wong (below). We congratulate both Susanne and Jane and look forward to the creativity these changes will inspire.

Bellingham Review event

Too good to miss, it’s a party to celebrate the release of Issue 70 of the Bellingham Review. This issue marks the conclusion of editor-in-chief Brenda Miller’s leadership of the journal and the party will also honor her and welcome the new editor, S. Paola Antonetta.

The event, on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Honey Moon in Bellingham, Washington, will start at 7:00pm with readings from Issue 70’s contest winners (Michael William Palmer, Jackleen Holton, and Tom Howard) and readings by graduate students enrolled in the English department at WWU.

At 8:30pm Honey Moon hosts Wild Literarians, vol. 3, a community open mic event where lovers of the written word can share passages from their favorite books. Both events are free and open to the public.

Call 360-734-0728 or email info@honeymoonmead.com for more information, or to sign-up for the open mic portion of the event. See additional event details on Facebook.

Poet, submit!

September 15, 2013

Cascadia map - Sightline InstituteAutumn is poetry submission season for many literary journals. While this does not profess to be a complete list of publications from the Cascadia region, it’s a healthy start. In some cases, regional is just an accident of the magazine’s home base; in other cases, it defines either the audience or the writers who are invited to submit.

For each publication, we’ve linked to the Submission page. (We’ve also provided a Facebook link, if available, because some publications update Facebook information more often than web pages.) You’ll also find links to each of these publications in the NW lit scene links in the right-hand column of this page.

Before you submit your work, read the publication and, of course, read and follow the submission guidelines carefully. (Please note: dates are gleaned from publication sites; some are closing dates, some opening dates, some inclusive.)
