Get away and write!

January 16, 2014

artsmith logoThe end of January is the perfect time for a change of scenery. So why not escape to the San Juans and do some writing? Martha Silano, Tina Schumann and Artsmith invite you to Writers Island 2014, where nature and writing combine. “Exercises will focus on the generation of new work inspired by nature and drawn from your deeper psyche as you relax into the rhythms of nature.”

Writers Island 2014, on Orcas Island, will be held Friday, January 31 to Sunday, February 2, 2014. Registration is limited, so have a look at the Artsmith website for further details and register soon! You can also visit Artsmith on Facebook.

P.S. You may recall that Martha Silano guest posted here in November to talk about her new book, The Daily Poet: Day-By-Day Prompts For Your Writing Practice, co-authored with Kelli Russell Agodon. In addition to Writers Island, Martha will teach a writing workshop with Kelli at Artist Tree Studio in Kingston, Washington, on Sunday, January 26. It will be afternoon of writing and sharing new work using exercise prompts from The Daily Poet. Participants will receive a free copy of The Daily Poet, along with light refreshments and coffee/tea/wine. Easy access from the Kingston Ferry dock. Come ready to imagine, take some risks and create. For complete details and to register see The Daily Poet Writing Workshop.
