Radio Open Source

Radio Open Source calls itself “an American conversation with global attitude.” In each weekly segment, host Christopher Lydon converses with his guest about ideas, politics and culture. Poets and poetry are a regular topic and recent shows have included Stephen Burt’s World of Poetry, Claudia Rankine’s Citizen, For C.D. Wright, Poet of the Ozarks, Eileen Myles’s Moment and many more. Worthwhile and free.

Stephen Burt at WWU

Poet/professor/literary critic Stephen Burt will offer a free public presentation at Western Washington University (Bellingham) on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at 5:00pm in Viking Union 552.

In The New York Times, Mark Oppenheimer called Burt “one of the most influential poetry critics of his generation” and “heir to the intellectual mantle long held by giants like Harold Bloom and Helen Vendler.”

Much more on Stephen Burt’s website. Event information on Facebook. Mark your calendar and find your way onto campus for this one. It’s sure to be lively.
