LiTFUSE 2020, virtually

The wonderful late-September gathering of poets in Tieton, Washington, LiTFUSE, has announced that the show will go on, as a fully virtual program.

  • LiTFUSE 2020 will take place September 25-27. Workshops and related programming will be offered in the weeks leading up to the main event.
  • Registration fees will be reduced to $150 per person and include virtual access to all regular workshop classes. Master classes will be available for an additional fee.
  • The poetry slam and keynote events will take place virtually. In place of the poet’s banquet, there will be a digital cocktail reception for faculty and registered attendees.
  • Special accommodations for the digital environment, such as closed-captioning, printable media, etc., can be arranged.

Mighty Tieton awaits

If you’ve been putting it off, it’s time to start planning for LiTFUSE. The annual weekend-long poets’ workshop held September 27-29, 2019, in Tieton, Washington (near Yakima), combines writing, exploration, improvisation, meditation, camaraderie, natural beauty and readings to ignite your muse.

The complete schedule is now online, registration is open, and this year, for those who book a room at the Oxford Suites in Yakima, there will be daily shuttle service to and from the Mighty Tieton Warehouse.

It will be a memorable weekend packed with poetry.

LiTFUSE Poets’ Workshop 2018 features Kevin Prufer, with Katrina Roberts, Cindy Williams Gutiérrez, Jonathan Johnson, Rick Barot, Christopher Howell, Jennifer Boyden, Kevin Goodan, Douglas Manuel, Kimberly Burwick, Imani Sims, Joanna Thomas, Raul Sanchez, and a special performance by Gerardo Calderon.

It’s happening Friday, September 28, through Sunday, September 30, 2018, in Tieton, Washington.

Registration is open and Early Bird rates apply through August 31. Registration includes Friday night’s Poetry Slam, Saturday and Sunday classes and readings, and the annual Poets’ Banquet with keynote on Saturday night. Master Classes, taught by Kevin Prufer, Katrina Roberts, and Cindy Williams Gutiérrez, will be offered Friday and Saturday for an additional fee.

Although technically it’s not yet summer, making plans to attend LiTFUSE is a sure sign that the season is right around the corner. The annual Tieton, Washington, event is definitely a landmark on the poetry map and a rewarding way to spend three days in September. LiTFUSE takes over the town of Tieton Friday, September 23, through Sunday, September 25, 2016. This year’s featured poet is Ilya Kaminsky, who joins many other fine poets on the schedule.

LiTFUSE - Poets Unite

Whether it’s the finale of your summer or the launch of your fall poetry season, LiTFUSE is a great way to juice up your year. Each September, the small town of Tieton, Washington — “Mighty Tieton” to those who love it — welcomes a lively throng of poets for a weekend of workshops, readings, exhibits and conversations. The atmosphere is welcoming and congenial, casual and stimulating.

Word Vancouver

Word Vancouver (formerly The Word On The Street Vancouver, founded in 1995) is Western Canada’s largest celebration of words and reading. The festival has already started and the main festival day takes place on Sunday, September 28, 2014, at the Central Branch of the Vancouver (BC) Public Library. A lively schedule includes musical performances, free readings, panel discussions, writing workshops and a variety of literacy activities, plus exhibits featuring Canadian authors, books and magazines. One day you wake up and it’s September. It arrives with a tinge of grief for departing summer, anxiety for all there is yet undone and anticipation of the many pleasures of the season ahead. Each year, at the cusp of summer and fall, LiTFUSE comes along to help with the transition — preserving summer’s energy, igniting fresh ideas to carry forward.

The 8th Annual LiTFUSE Poets’ Workshop will be held September 26-28, 2014 in Tieton, Washington, near Yakima, offering three days of outstanding faculty, writing, performance, meditation, fellowship and natural beauty to inspire poets to do their best work. LiTFUSE is for poets of all ages, abilities and styles.
